Some Times

You've gotta wonder about this country. Some of the things we've done in our past we just didn't learn from I guess. Take Manzanar, an internment camp set up at the southern end of the high Sierra, out in the middle of a barren desert.Yucca cactus and other inhospitable life forms flourish. But this surely is no place to hold humans against their will. The worst part to me was the stereotyping that took place in order to shuffle the inmates from their homes to the camp. It didn't matter your nationality, as long as you had "that" look, oriental you and your family was shipped by truck to the high desert hell. fast forward to present day the camp is a historical park and we still haven't learned a thing. jump cross country and to our southern most point. Guantanamo Bay or GITMO as its referred to, in repeating history all over. At a time when we need not piss off any more terror groups the government seems to think stereotyping is still ok taking young men out of college for a certain look and holding then captive for an indefinite amount of time. Soon the site will close from what i gather and at that time where do all the disgruntled prisoners go, filtered into our already overcrowded system or back to a country ready to embrace their hatred of the US. Just some thoughts I been pondering since my passing and walk around the the Manzanar facility. And go figure the signs writing even looks a lil bit Nazi-ish...
